The Top 10 Ski Resorts - For Real

With Ski Resorts opening over the next few weeks it’s decision time. Needless to say, you’ve seen the lists in outdoor magazines, men’s magazines, travel magazines, on blogs, and carved into bathroom stalls. But the honest truth is that the list would be different for each person. To get a true top ten list catered to each person’s needs you’d have to ask:

  • What type of terrain you like?
  • Do you ski or snowboard?
  • How much are you willing to spend on travel? Lodging?
  • Do you want a nightlife? How much?

Since we can’t create a customized list, we decided to take a different approach with our top 10 ski resorts list. We aggregated everyone else’s lists! The science behind this is simple. We took all the big “top ski resort” lists across the web and in print and found the resorts that made all or most of these lists. Each resort got 1 point for each time it was mentioned. Resorts got 2 points each time they got a #1 spot. We took the top 10 point earners got  our own Top 10 Ski Resorts.

    Which Lake Tahoe resort makes the list - one entry to cover a dozen resorts seems strange? My favorite’s Heavenly - great skiing and a little gambling in the evening!
